Wow only two hours before it flaked. At least I got one month.
I still am a bit peeved. First, I kept gettin I/O errors that said the disk was unable to create or copy my files. To make matters worse, the device manager claims that "this device is working properly." But it isn't! Second, the name of the device doesn't even show up in "My Computer" For example, under the device removable with storage category, it says "Removable Disk (E)" not what it used to display, like the name SanDisk Mini.... I totally need this, but I don't want to purchase another.

Bummed.

Personally -- IMHO -- I avoid Scan Disk like the plague. I purchased both a 128 and 256 MB SD memory card(s) for my Kodak Digi camera. Both gave me problems with lost data, or could not retrieve data etc. And I got the same pitch : " these almost never go bad" etc, etc,.. And " it's your camera". My camera was brand new and I had a Dane Elec SD card and a Lexar SD card too and had no problems with them. So, that ruled out the camera.

Plus, my Brother in-law had a problem with Scan Disk too (I believe it was a MMC format card 128 MB). Same basic issue as well.

I'm sure not all of them are bad. But I do not trust them and thus won't use them anymore.

Just my 2 cents

I just received the RMA to return my 256 MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini, after it stopped working. In my case I could not read or write to it and when I checked the properties, where you normally have a file system of FAT32 or NTFS, mine read, NONE !

I will say however that SanDisk as a company was great. They sent me link to print out a FedEx lable and ship the defective unit back, at their expense

I work for a company that sells custom computer HW and SW, but we often are impact by the third party components that we use. Case in point we received a bad batch (like 1000's) of 146GB hard drives from one of the largest, most reputible drive manufactures in the world - (drive spindle issues). Impact us real bad, and made us look like we sold garbage, but we had no control over it. Maybe the same thing with the SanDisk Mini's
