Compaq 17" LCD monitor question

Hi, I hope somebody can help. I just bought a Compaq LCD monitor from hpshopping and It looks as if a tiny white circle located at the top of the screen can be seen. It's not a mark on the outside. Could that already be a dead pixel?

What do you mean by "a tiny white circle"? Dead pixels are normally bright dots on the screen. Use a black background to test for dead pixels.
