Systems Cracked LCD on refurbished camera - help!

I received my Olympus IS-50 QD camera promptly from Digital Delivered....However, the LCD screen on the refurbished camera was broken...Which was obviously not part of the product description....I called DD but they referred me to the manufacturer..I then called Olympus, they also refused to take any responsibility...

Could anyone help me with info on liability? Repair? Consumer rights? Olympus' warranty does not cover defects from impacts, etc...Either Digital Delivered sold me a defect camera, or it was broken during the shipping...either someone is lying, or noone wants to deal with it...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i believe since you bought it refurbished, its the site that you bought it from problem. Not Olympus. Did the site you buy it from say sold as is?


how was the packing with the camera? How did the box look when it was delivered?

First I would continue to contact whomever you bought it from. Perhaps threatening to take legal action would get their attention.

Might be worth a try to contact the carrier. If it had any insurance while shipping you could simply claim it was broken in transit.

The camera came in an Olympus box, with a barcode and all. The following is the info displayed on the website regarding the camera:

if it came from the site like that, and there is no damage to the box (like it was dropped or punctured) then its the site responsiblity to correct it.

I would send it back and make them pay for the refund on defective merchandise. Thats what we do at work. We make our merchants pay for them
