Want to learn debugging

Can anyone point me to some sites that explain debugging?
When, How, Why, Debugging Mode .
Stuff Like that.
I think it's time to get a little more imformed.
Thanks

OH! and any comments on the subject are of course welcome.

I'll add that the intrest I have is this.
My fairly new lappy w/ XP Home is REAL slow to boot.
It boots to the desk top then takes like 5 min to load my wireless
connection and the Nortons Virus Protection.
But
When I bot and use the F8 and select the Debugging Mode
It then boots normal in say 40 sec

I thought "Debugging" was just a general term for trouble shooting.

Guess Not!

Is there some logs i should review to see what is not loading

Have you tried system restore? I had a "slow to boot" problem recently on a new Dell, probably caused by my improper loading of software. The Dell tech walked me thru the F8 system restore and it cleared my problem. Here's the info from the Microsoft site:

Using System Restore to Restore Windows XP

If Windows XP does not start
Start the computer and then press the F8 key when Windows begins to start. The Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
Use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press ENTER.
If a boot menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP, and then press ENTER. Windows XP restores the computer to the most recent restore point.

It worked for me. Hope this helps.
