how long will it take to burn a 4.7GB dvd r at 2.4x?
is $56 a good price for a 2.4x dvdrw?
this one is a memorex, are they good drives?

hmm all the reviews for this drive on newegg are bad.. just the memorex one then i guess.. or if anyone knows another pace with cheap burners i could check out.. ive only found two sites

My first dvd burner cost $375. and that was a deal at the time. A full DVD with video or data will take 2 hours to burn at x1 speed. It will take 1 hour at 1 hour at x2 speed and so on. Don't be cheap at this point, buy a double standard and the highest speed you can afford.

a 4x for me takes about 25 mins on a LG 4040B model.

DVDRHelp has ratings on DVD recorders. You can narrow by speed, brand, etc. and then sort by ratings.

The Memorex drive you list is well regarded, but it's relatively slow for its price.

A 4x DVD drive should take about 15 minutes to burn a full DVD.

the lowest 4x i could find was that crappy one at newegg and it was around $80 >.<

that site is nice osprey, but they have nothing listed under $100
