If I were to actually spend $5,000 on a new personal system, it would certainly not support Windows, nor have an AMD or Intel processor. To each their own....

what I meant by the statement "vga interface" was the connector used to attach a video card to a motherboard, currently AGP is standard, PCI express interface technology is apparently is more efficent than agp and soon to replace it. Refer to this.

I'm not sure what you mean by "do u think ati card can beat nvidia geforce fx chipset card in video cards lists?", are you asking if ATI card are currently better than Nvidia's, or are you asking who will be better. If neither please explain.

Right now ATI's silicon is faster (and quieter) than nVidia's, and has better visual quality. If someone offered me a choice between a free 9800XT and an FX 5950, the XT would be my choice no questions asked.

He shouldn't make up his mind yet because new video cards from both sides are coming out, he should wait and see, by this time two months from now nvidia may have a huge lead, or the other way around, who knows.

The best video cards now are the nvidia 5950 ultra and the ati 9800xt. If a video card is the best usually it stays there for a while (ati 9800xt has been around for almost a year). We are reaching the end of an era, new video card will be release very soon. There is almost never more than one major video card release each year, so if you buy one then it will be one of the best for a year or more, if you buy now it will be the best for two months at best.

well there was one at ebay, from an old flight simulator, it was really really fast, but also expensive, but for you i suggest an ATI Radeon 9800 XT it is really good and fast, and all that kind of stuff, i donnu if it's the newest but i know its one of the best (or even the best)

radeon is good for graphics (nvidia is really bad right now) and for the CPU everyone suggested an AMD, it is good for playing games etc. but for multitasking pentium is still better (also for video/music converting like ripping DVDs or other things)

but if you ask for the fastest, AMD!

hope i could help (BTW i'm not the PC specialist i only know things my friends tell me =) so dont blame me for buying wrong things =)
