half.com buyer with 0 feedback

I can't find anything on half.com's site about this.. I just had an order placed for a digital camera I'm selling. According to his profile, the buyer was registered in '99, but has ZERO feedback.

If this turns out to be something fishy, am I covered as I'm being paid by half.com? I always ship with Delivery Confirmation to prove delivery, but $130 is more than a $10 dvd, so I don't know. Anyone know half's policy if this turns out to be a stolen credit card? (I don't know he's have no feedback after 5 years!)

Thanks!

Half com Buyer 0 Feedback

I've never sold, just bought many times at half.com, and I do check seller ratings first. Maybe this person registered, and just never bought anything. It's hard to tell.

Half.com has a help section/Faqs that should answer your questions and get you to terms, etc.

But, if you are selling through half.com, buyer has to pay with a credit card that is confirmed. So why wouldn't you get paid? And I notice that if you are selling at the ebay site, seller's list how they will get paid, and I certainly wouldn't put checks as options - just accept either charge cards or they let you use the free PayPal at ebay as a payment option as well.

I believe you can request half.com to send a private email to the buyer saying you have a question about shipping or something, requesting that they contact you by email, they then forward email to buyer, who can then contact you if willing. If it's a legit buyer, I would think you'd get a quick response from the person. Then you now have each other's emails and can correspond directly, and you can then pose any questions you want to person, including payment method (charge card or PayPal best method).

Yes, they do. I checked that.

I emailed service@half.com and here's what they said:

"Thank you for contacting us with your concerns.

Please be assured that, should a stolen credit card be used on a valid
Half.com transaction and you have already sent the item, then you will
still be paid. All chargeback matters are handled between Half.com and
the credit card company.

I hope this information will help to reassure you that our site is
safe.

I have this email saved, if anything happens I'll just fax it to my bank.

Half com Buyer 0 Feedback

Hopefully, you'll get all your money. Just make sure you file the appropriate claim form with half.com if necessary, in a timely manner.

Looks like your instincts might have been right about being leery because of no feedback. I 've bought books many times from half.com, and had only 1 problem with non-receipt. It took a little while, but I did get a refund from half.com. I always check for negative ratings before choosing a seller, to avoid problems.

Good Luck.
