[ecc2] and Barton core?

Has anyone seen any stats on how it runs on a Barton core CPU?

If the whole program could run from just the L2, I'd imagine that the performance increase would be great!

Haven't seen any results from Bartons yet but I expect there wouldn't be any significant gain. There is litlle to no difference between Celeron P4, Willamette P4's and Northwood P4s at the same frequency. Clock speed or Architecture are the major factors for Ecc2 just as they were for Eccp.
In fact this makes it a good project for configurations that would do poorly elsewhere (celeron P4 in particular) or SDRam systems.
