I use the Jeff Gilchrist GUI v0.4 to check on the ECC2 services. Nice little icon too!

I don't run eccp2 anymore because it didn't play nice with other software but there is at least one add on gui that I used. The link for it is with the other eccp2 clients which I don't have ready access to but it's in the forum somewhere.

I've noticed the GUI works better (to me) if you run the service on NT/2K/XP.

On 9X you still have to kill the client or the GUI (set to kill the client) before shutdown/reboot. Kind of a pain. Unless I'm doing something wrong. (which is highly unlikely )

At a DOS prompt, go to the directory w/ ECC2 in it.

"C:\PROGRA~1\ECC2\serivce -install"

That's it.

Run the GUI, set it to say "Client Installed As Service"

I also check "Start ecc2GUI in Tray"

Close the GUI, then start it again. (that's the only way it writes the "ecc2gui.ini" file. I requested that Jeff add a button the saves the config instead of having to shut it down.)

That should be it.

Any idea if/when they're going to have an integrated GUI/client that's easy to install & run (like ECCp109 was)??

hmmm it's saying client service installed, then I open the gui and it says unable to start service.

No kidding ragtop! That would attract a lot more peeps I think!

Hmm.

Okay then, do a ;

"C:\PROGRA~1\ECC2\service -remove"

Check Task Manager and make sure there isn't still an "x86core" and "CLIclient" running.

If not, repeat the install. Then check the GUI again.

ragtop> Not sure when that is going to be. I doubt if it's too much longer. I think so many have been, uh, well, whining about stats, they've put the most effort into that. I think they got lucky that a couple of guys wrote the wrappers for them as it is. Most of us ECC2'ers keep a close eye on the Forum , so we'll be sure to let EVERYBODY know when there is one.
