Here is a snip from the read me-
For use as a Win32 Service, follow these steps:
- - - - - -
1. Install the zip file contents into a seperate directory
of its own.
2. Edit the .CFG file and install sensible values. If you
fail to edit the .CFG file, the client will NOT run!
3. Open a DOS window and change into the ECC2 directory.
4. Execute the SERVICE.EXE utility to install the service.
Use a command line parameter of "-install". To remove
the service, use "-remove".
5. You can monitor the status of the ECC2 service by watching
the ECC2-109.SPD file. It will be updated approximately
once a second. It displays the same information that the
CLI client displays (speed, its since last DP, etc).
You can also go to the run command, browse to the ecc2 folder, and (for example) use c:\ecc2\service.exe -install
After execution of this command, a dos window will open and close. The client starts automatically and no other commands will be necessary.
I set up shortcuts to the ECC2-109.SPD files, associating SPD files with notepad. I can monitor all the clients on my network in this manner.
I believe that this is only for NT/2000/XP and not 9x/ME.
