uhhmmm, that's not too great of a deal...not bad, but not the best, you can get it about $10 cheaper shipped...and the price you mentioned is inaccurate, shows up as $40.50 for me at that link.

Newegg has several for $32-34 +$5 S&H

Interesting... I was certain I copied the computergeeks URL, but now it shows as a Buy.com url ... I ordered my drive thru Buy.com on the 24th. Hmmm ???

Personally, I'd stay away from Geek's. After spending $2K with them in a year, they shipped me a brick, 12/6/06. Cost me $14.50 to return it. They won't honor their policy of replacement with equal or better. Their website shows 12 models for sale today. They claim none in stock. Issued house credit instead of spending $10 to ship me what I paid for six weeks ago. I'm out $24.50 shipping for the brick. I guess they think that having to pay shipping three times for something is fair. Too many reputable retailers out there to put up with this.

BTW I posted an unacceptable rating for them at Pricegrabber, along with a detailed version of the above, went back a day later and read a nice happy review with my name on it. Someone (probably rhymes with reeks) changed my post. RR has not posted my review yet, but it's identical to the original one posted at Pricegrabber.

Sorry to hear your pain, xilef, but I feel it too.

Used to shop at geeks but in the past 3-5 years, they haven't offered the real bargains they used to offer... I remember getting my first CD burner from them... a 2x burner for $20 when bleeding edge just introduced 16x burners for $398.00. Ahhh.... the memories!!

Clearly, geeks has tried to raise themselves out of the 'not-so-bleeding-edge' market (where the user was GLAD to buy products that were 2 generations older and we paid practically nothing). As a result, they left their once loyal clientele scratching their heads. Geeks has decided they are better off this way (by leaving the stuff they used to sell and trying to become a modern web miracle).

Initially, I had searched for the 4G drive (and bought it) through Buy.com, and the price was excellent for what I saw, hence this post. Sure would be nice if I had known about Neweggs' offerings .... now there is egg on my face.

BTW - that wasn't a literal brick, right??

Nope. A cheap UPS.

But, literally, they got what I paid for...

I've disputed the charge with my bank card...sent a dated view of their website showing the stock for sale (mine was even on special when they claimed out of stock) and a copy of their policy stating replacement with equal or better...

Whatever the outcome, they've lost the profit on my future business and spent at least $10.00 on the dispute. They chose the loss too, with management like this we might be seeing the next Monarch fluttering down the tubes.
