Australian Vista Prices!

Hey guys i am looking for the cheapest Vista price either Upgrade or OEM... i have found the following - ALL Ultimate 32 bit - i think it is reasonably priced considering the price of XP brand new when it was first releases

http://www.gamedude.com.au/ - 319$ with Hardware purchase

http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=4 - 300$ with hardware purchase

http://www.instantit.com.au/browse/P...ercode=MSA5109 - $444.06 - no hardware purchase required...

i am looking at the Umart on with a 160 Gig harddrive for dual boot with my current XP setup..

is there a place where i can get it cheaper?

cheers,

Ex

XP has everything you need?

Vista can be only installed three times if your building your machine? I don't know about you but even after having an up-to-date antivirus, spam filters, etc etc, the best way to run my machine after gunking it all up with programs after a period of time is to do a reinstall of the OS. I have done this many times already and its like having a new machine. 10 Reasons You Don’t Need Vista Today -
1 - Vista Requires a Fairly Powerful Machine
2 - Application Incompatibilities
3 - Vista is Crazy Expensive
4 - No Hardware Audio
5 - Vista Doesn’t Work With a Lot of Bleeding-Edge Hardware
6 - Vista Doesn’t Work Well With Some Games
7 - Vista Includes Consumer-Unfriendly DRM
8 - Poor Driver Support
9 - Vista is Kind of Annoying
10. You Can Wait

I personally can wait - enjoying my XP PRO on my kick ass machine and be very happy! Everything works!!

Totally agree with wiz...

I have re-installed my XP at least 3 times since I've built my machine about 3 yrs ago (plus several h/w upgrades over that time).

It's just a bad biz model to limit the number of times you can re-install a product. Unless they are trying to say that Vista will run so "clean" that you won't have to do more than 3 re-installs in the lifetime of your machine.

Or perhaps they are saying that by the time most people reach 3 re-installs, MS will have another new OS already.
