How does this work?

Hey what do I need to do? I dl'd the software and set it up so that it is hidden. So it is running all the time right?? How do I join a team though?? Athlon 2000xp.

go into your start button>programs>find a drug>control panel.

then clickk on the general tab, and enter 2037 in the team field. and your done

i run mine hidden too, never think about it, but in a sense kinda make ya feel good that your helping out

EDIT: Also does this usually take a long time to do??
Been running for about an hour and I only have 6 hits...is that normal?

One more thing...what is up with the p2p network on this?? How does this work? Does the program just make random molecules and see if they work..plz explain ty

, but let's see if I can help answer your questions!

It depends on the particular work unit (wu) and molecules you're working on. All wu's are ~ 10,000 molecules, some a little more, some a little less. Also, depending on the wu and the power of the machine you're crunching it on, it can take anywhere from minutes (my shortest was 13 min.), to weeks, to complete a wu. As for the number of hits, they can range from 0 - 700+, once again, depending on the wu. Patience and Persistence is what it takes according to Mondo.

There isn't any p2p network per say, . . . . . . . if you're set on auto pilot, your machine will want to upload/download when necessary from the [FAD] servers. If it can't upload/download when it needs to, it will create it's own wu's until it can.

1 other thing possibly worth mentioning.

Each PC is asigned a CPU rating (yours probably 160ish), you will get this many points for each hour of crunching. Although different wu's take different amounts of time to run, it is reflected in the points.

I am pretty sure Eladijaz should be doing a daily stats thread soon, so you can watch your progress through the ranks.

Also I got sent an email by them with my username and password...where do I use that. I went to www.find-a-drug.com and i didn't see any login areas

You'd use your user name and password to sign into the [FAD] Forums. You can then check out and post in the Team TechIMO "Team" thread.
