Going to start looking for a new team.
Yup, that's right. I think that I'll be the next one to jump ship. It seems to be a sinking ship, anyway. It's not a decision that comes lightly. It's something that I've been thinking about for a long time now. The team just doesn't have the energy it used to have. Recruitment isn't what it used to be, either. TechIMO will always be like a second home, and I'll still be around of course. I hope that something can be done to turn the team around. I'd hate to see the team continue spiraling down the way it is. I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm not going to jump right over to XPC without looking around first. When I have more time, I'll be checking out the other teams. Best of luck to everyone. No matter what the rest of you do, KEEP ON CRUNCHING!!! |

sorry to see you go. good luck in your future crunching efforts.
By the way the ship is not sinking, and if the team seems to lack energy its because people keep leaving instead of doing something about it.

I get the impression that the we might need some stats to get the team talking again ... personally, I'm fine without it but I do also enjoy it ...

sorry you are preparing to leave, guns. if you don't reconsider, then all the best at your new team.

I can't say that I'm definitely leaving. But I am looking at other teams. I like the daily stat's too, I think they would help, but it's still not like it used to be before most of our team went to XPC. Even when we still had the daily stat's, I mean. I agree that it would be better to try to stay and do something about the lack of enthusiasm, but unfortunately I don't really have the time to put into it right now. Also, I haven't been feeling very enthusiastic lately. With problems at home and all, I'm having a hard time trying to get other people excited about anything. You know what I mean? I guess that's why I need other people to get things started, and I can chime in every once in awhile when I get a few minutes. Well, we'll see what happens.

If I may suggest, Idigguns, the FAD forums have had a bit of upheaval lately and some teams are being rearranged a bit, so it is a good time to review what teams are doing what recruiting and stuff, but not based on their stats positions or anything, but by the amount of banter and chatter of their members on the FAD forums.
The new Thinktank2 (or whatever it will eventually be named) would be a good candidate IMO if you weren't considering XPC. They certainly have a heap of friendly members. Or TSC Russia is you want the fastest growing team, but it would help if you speak Russian as their forum is apparently in Russian.
Whatever you decide, even if you choose the non-team None, thanks for your contribution to this project, and always keep in sight the end goals: to find cures and better treatments for a range of diseases and health problems.
I hope this isn't considered a thread crap or anything; I just wanted to offer my thoughts.
Cheers
Mick

Oh, I appreciate your thoughts, Mickwish. I've been watching the FaD forums the past couple days, and have witnessed the upheaval you spoke of. I was kinda waiting for the dust to settle to see what happens. I'm also thinking about starting a new team. I'd just like to come up with a team that would have good potential for recruiting new members. I need to think about that. Also, I'm afraid that I wouldn't have the time to devote to starting a new team. Idunno, we'll see.

guns,
if you're looking for a new team, of course, we'd love to have you join us at XPC (i'm sure you'll recognize a lot of old 'faces' there ), but another suggestion would be another FAD team headed by another old techimo'er - Korgul over at the Techguy board. there's not as much banter over there as what we have at xpc but it's worth a look if you're interested. seem like a good small group crunching there...no stats thread though.
i am not completely sure about this...but i think you need to be able to host a team page if you want to form your own FAD team. dunno if there is a minimum # of members (maybe 2) but if you're really interested, you could email find-a-drug.
cheers.

Thank's PJ, I'll check out Korgul's team. I'm thinking I may join XPC for now and maybe later start a new team. I've already been thinking about a web-site so that I can start a new team. I think you only need 1 member, though. I've got to check into it somemore.
