Hmmm.. why don't you just (instead of ./server -receive &) use the server auto like:

$FAD_DIR=/home/fad/`hostname`/task_1
cd $FAD_DIR
echo "Find-a-Drug: populating queue for new node"
./server -auto &
echo "Find-a-Drug: allocate first job for new node"
./server -allocate `ls j1-*.log` `hostname` &

Because for some reason, on the node that worked think wouldn't trigger the server to download. I had to do it manually.

I've posted the script so far in the thread over there. On the plus side, I got think working (had to use nohup). On the minus, server refuses to do anything on its own. Gotta load, download, and allocate manually.

BTW, pico serves my purposes quite well. Thanks.

Please don't. I might decide to spit. I seem to have into a roadblock. LTSP uses the BusyBox version of several commands including ps. Unfortunately, the FaD expects a normal version it seems. I may have to figure out a way for the nodes to use the normal version and test it.

I pop over here to see how your doing, and find your trying to figure which one to give Bitty mouth to mouth?

Hmm...Suddenly, I feel very alone, in a strange place... and scared

Having avoided that lot, its good to see you guys are still posting out those numbers!
Keep up the great work.

Chris.

I just might have this thing working now. BusyBox's ps command is a symbolic link. After googling and finding out I can rm a symbolic link like a regular file, I su'ed, cp'ed Mandrake's ps to LTSP's /bin, tested, got a complaint about a missing lib, copied Mandrake's to LTSP's /lib, restarted the node, and amazingly it's actually working! So now Armada7 is crunching. Now to reboot Armada8 and 9 and see if server works right on it. If that works, I can work on building Armada1 through 4. Armada5,6, and 10 will take longer since those don't have have bootable NICs.
