Ordered the parts for a new pc

Last night I ordered the parts to build a new quiet pc for home.
Shuttle SN41g2 case/mobo
AMD 2500+ Barton, hope to over clock to atleast 2800+
1gig of Crucial PC3200 ram
160WD HD, Samsung CDRW/DVD 52x52x24x16x
Plan to reuse exisiting keyboard/mouse and 19"monitor. In a few weeks I'll get the trusty old PIII650@800 runnning in the basement as a fileserver and back to crunching FAD

yes sir, it will certainly be a worthy addition

are you going to be using the stock heatsink with it, or a different one?

It only gets about 4-6 degrees hotter at max when oc'd to 3200+

Yes I'll be using the stock heatsink/fan.
Shuttle gives really good heat pipes with all the XPC case/mobo combos
anything over 2800+ is going be great, Im not counting my eggs before the chicken comes.

oh! thats an XPC, how foolish of me to not notice, i don't know how i missed the letters XPC

man, that will be a tough call...

The heatpipe does a good job yes, but i don't know if it does THAT good of a job.

it'll get pretty damn loud if you get 'er cranking, it does run on a massive SUNON fan.. only the best

*edit* oh, i don't know if you knew you made a variation of the old saying, "im not counting my chickens 'till they hatch"

Yep its my version of the chicken/egg thing :-)

Omardeth: I know its a bit pricey, but if you add up what a good mobo and semi-good video card cost, a great case and all the other integrated pieces and extra stuff you would have to buy seperately, combined with having someone else work the bugs out of making it all work together. the $288-$30 MIR=$258 for the SN41g2 is a bargain.

just my 2cents
