[FaD] How many copies of THINK do you run?

As a member that is always trying to increase his output and maximize the cows that he has...I was wondering at what point or speed do you make the cut-off and only run one copy of THINK?

At some point the law of diminshing returns would set in and you'll lose the benefit of running that extra copy of THINK.

Two each on my five "fast" cows. Only one on the slowest a MMX 233.

I run 1 on each PC, 2 was starting to affect games (played on fastest 2) and web/email servers (3rd and 4th fastest)

on my SMP machines, i obviously run 1 instance of think per cpu.

on single cpu boxen, i only run 2 instances on p4 2.4 ghz (or higher).

Well, I'm the odd one here, then.

I run 2 copies on my 800MHz boxes, and 1 copy on anything else (all slower). Oh, and 1 copy per CPU on my quad PPro.

I don't game much, though, so maybe running 2 thinks on an 800MHz box is fine if you don't otherwise stress it.

I'm running 2 copies of think on my AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton@2.4GHz. Doesn't affect gaming, or anything else I do on this machine either. I tried three copies once, but the third copy usually only got 2-10 percent of CPU cycles, and it bogged the machine down pretty good, so I figured two was enough.

Below 800MHz are running 1!

Does it actually make a difference at all???!

Surely it will crunch 1 job twice as quick if you have a 3ghz CPU machine rather than running 2 copies with 2 thinks.
