[FaD]Redoing system and harddrive...

concerning FaD installation -

what needs to be saved ( if anything ) and if so what do I need to do once this machine is backup and running to get it back to where it was?

Or should I just download a new instance of FaD, once I'm back up and running, and start afresh?

Just copy or zip up the FaD directory while it's not running, the wipe, re-install and unzip it and run Think.lgo and tell it to open with loader.exe, then add the shortcut to the start menu

That will continue off where it left off (providing the system name didn't change if it did then just re-run isetup.

Can you do the same thing for an upgrade?
My 333 celery is probably for the high jump in the next couple of weeks.
Would be nice to keep the existing server queue, from that m/c, running on it's replacement.
It's not important, I know. Just a personal thing.

So there is no install needed?, just place it in the desired location, put a link in Startup, start think.lgo and away i go. doesn't starting think.lgo get loader.exe going? little confused on that part.

You have to tell windows what program to start a .lgo with (file association)

Rusty, I moved my queue server from a celleron 333 to an athlon 1Ghz in this manner with no problems what so ever (you just have to run Isetup, then hit update to correct the server name)

You don't have to re-install.

Also vserlnv, you can install the software on 1 PC, (the one that changes the least) then share the folder, Then all you have to do is map that folder as a drive on a different PC, start Think.exe and tray.exe and they will share a Queue, thi sway you can re-install the other machines all you want and just map the drive and run it with no installation problems.
