[FAD] A new cow is born

I got the new cow up and running

Asus A7V333
2.1 XP TBred running at 2.2 - anyone know what this would be in equivelent real terms?
256 DDR 2700

This is a dedicated cruncher, the trade of though is that I have to shutdown a couple of others (as per the wifes STRICT instructions ) the total for those shutdown is less than 800MHz, so I am still crunching with more power

I have tried overclocking the FSB, but if I take it above 133, it wont post but I have lifted the multiplier to 16.5 @133 without problem - running rock solid at 52c. Would flashing/upgrading the BIOS give me added oc'ing options?

Off to a flying start - 1f45-q2 sloooow Worthwhile though as my Mother in law has MS.

Congratulations of the strenth of this team though - fastest growing and producing I believe - Hopefully this cow will help

w2k, 133x16.5 will offer just as much to Fad if not more then 166x13 (2.16) so I don't know if it's worth it..

Glad to hear yer up and running, those XP2100's are great for a simple OC (I'll be getting another one to upgrade my wifes) those will be traded for 2 k6's going down(900 slow Mhz acceptible trade ))

Funny thing is the new PC will use less power then the others combined.

big thumbs up

I was just joking Auntie!!

But, since ya' asked how old is old . . . . . .

166MHz Cyrix -- is the oldest!
233MHz PII
266MHz PII

The Cyrix and the 233 PII are only crunchers and I will be giving them to my Great-Nephews this summer. The 266 PII is my server and that's more than fast enough for what it does. The rest of my boxes range from:

733MHz PIII - Tweetybird (daughter)
800MHz Athlon - Wolverine (mine)
950MHz Athlon - Girlfriend2 (daughter)
1.3GHz Athlon - Bigman (son)

So, as you can see, I'm not doing too bad when it comes to power!! I do have a couple customer's computers that I have permission to run [FAD] on as well (333MHz and 400MHz Celerons). And my sisters 366MHz K6-2!

Now, all ya' gotta do is figure out how I'm racking up the molecules and points at the rate I'm doing it!

Harder

BTW, I still intend on upgrading 2-4 of the main ones sometime this year as money comes available. 2 new Mobo's, 2-3 Athlons, and switching to DDR in those machines. Probably build Boss Lady from parts after the upgrades.

Glad to hear it, win2kuser! I'm a one-comp cruncher, but no worries I'll have more up and running in the coming months or years
