[UD] [FAD] questions
Ok I am contimplating switching over to FAD once team korgul makes it to the 1,000,000 make in UD.
Where can I read up on FAD, download the client, check stats, and anything else that might be useful?
Thanks
korgul

Will give you all the info you need - and the download.
Definately worth joining us as we have just overtaken 'The Christians' and are about to steamroller [H]ard. and move into 5th place
Any further questions on running the client, just ask
And if you join us, once you have uploaded your first job, we will give you an official welcome |

Oh, and almost forgot to mention - When entering a team number (bottom right), put 2037 for TIMO |

Cool thanks for the links.
I have not decided yet, still waiting on the other part of team korgul to get back to me.

I went and checked out the stats and noticed that the other part of team korgul is already running it.
So.... Team korgul is now Team vass0922-PC

korgul,
no reason why you can't run both UD & FAD...i do! just not both DC's on the same pc, unless it is a duallie.
in fact, i tend to favor running UD on my slower cows...esp. my p2's since many of the WU's in fad really take a loooong time on fast cpus like the p3's & p4's.
cheers.

Thanks Prestor. I haven't decided what to run on the 450's yet.

TIA,
Scott

>is there a problem running FaD and UD on the same PC? What are the drawbacks or problems
i gave it a try once on a p4 1.8ghz and had very mixed results. that test period also coincided w/FAD putting out some monster cancer WU's.
even under the best of circumstances, by running both...you are extending the UD completion times by roughly 2x. that in itself is maybe not nearly as bad as it sounds, since UD does factor the greater run time into the final pt output but it also really extends the FAD times as well. and since FAD primarily awards pts on the # of jobs completed (and not hit counts or completion times), then obviously running both DCs on single-cpu cows, does have an impact.
mondobyte, who seems to have done a quite a bit joint UD/FAD testing on his rigs, also remarked that running UD in conjunction with FAD caused some FAD mollies to take an inordinately long time when nearing the 97-100% completion mark.
