[FAD] Does it matter the number of copies of THINK?

I don't know what happened, but I made a nice big dump, and then FAD updated itself and I'm going through it and if you go through the setup, and there's the setup tab, and then there's this thing that says
Quote:
Number of copies of THINK
and right now it's on auto, but lets say I wanted to have 2 up... would it run slower than having just one? or maybe a dual proc would handle it better?

Thanks for the advice If that's the case, I'm not screwing around with it, I just reinstalled XP because I was having problems with FAD and how it kept giving me errors on connection.

as i understand it that setting should really only be used if you have multiple processors. while you can run it on single cpus, it will slow down your crunching so much that it's not worth it imo.

am noticing some WU's which are hanging with the new client though

If you go to job information, you can see if it's still moving, sometimes for one set of molecules it will take a long time with no real hits (but close ones)

The numbers are 0-100:100-0 so the second number counts down, when it hits zero, the first digit increases by 1, and it starts at 100 for the second digit again.

Thanks for the replies everyone, looks like I won't be messing around with those settings, don't want to screw up FAD. Last time I messed it up, I had to install XP and that was the biggest hassle ever.
