[FaD] Looks like we need a new team leader.
It seems that our team leader mondobyte was recently banned from TechIMO forums and although the ban was removed, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. His presence will be greatly missed here at TechIMO forums and I hope he enjoys his time with Top Cats where his points will be sent.
Although this is an unfortunate circumstance, we must crunch on!
Now more than ever, we need to Rectuit, Rectuit, Rectuit!
This thread should be used to elect a new team leader at the request of mondobyte. Please tell us who you think it should be and why you picked that person.
Hopefully mondo will wave as we pass team Top Cats some time in the future.

i am very saddened to hear about mondobyte!
a good team captain needs to be visible (here in the dc forums), provide leadership, and be a good 'cheerleader'. it does not necessarily have to be someone at the top in point production.
off the top of my head, sharder8 and mickwish would be my two choices (assuming they were interested in the spot) since they were some of the early core fad members and were very visible in recruitment drives. there are probably other good choices as well.
if this is to be by vote, perhaps it would be better to get a list of interested candidates first...

I am very sorry to hear that! I will miss his encouragement and advice!
This may not be able to be answered, but why in the world would mondobyte have been banned? I've never seen anything wrong that he's done? I;m not questioning the judgement of this, I'm just kinda sad and curious...
Well, I say that even though the new team leader doesn't have to be the leader in points, he should be one that has crunched for a while and paid his dues, if you know what I mean. A better thing might be to post the candidates, and then have a vote between them for the leader. And, if we do that, it shouldn't be more than 3-4 people, because then it wouldn't be very helpful.

Woh, that really sucks
Sorry to see that, but I'm sure mondobyte has his reasons. I'm with David, I've never seen mondobyte do anything uncalled for in any way. I agree with everyone so far that the new leader should be someone that is pretty high on the list with a lot of time invested and who is very active in the forums.

I am hoping that Mondo changes his mind and continues at the reins of our great team! I don't know what all happened, but like said before, I'm sure he has his reasons.
So, once again, . . . . . . . . .
I vote for Mondobyte!
If Mondo decides to stay with his decision, I would hope that he would recommend his predessor!

That really does suck - BIG TIME
I know mondo has had his differences in the past with the moderators about crapping in the threads, but to ban him!!
I wish mondo all the very best of luck with the topcats and will be sorry to say goodbye. He has been an inspiration to us all. <sniff>
Of course, you could always just grit your teeth, shrug your shoulders and continue at TechIMO mondo. Look how far YOU have taken this team. I started at the biggining of Jan, at the time we were 12th or 13th in the league and now with your encouragement, understanding and recruitment we are 7th and rising!!
If however mondo does deside to leave us, I'm with PresterJohn on the leadership thing, sharder8 or mickwish - They seem to have the most worldly experience IMO and have both been around for ever. In addition, they are also very well known in the forum community.

This is a sad thing, Mondo is an excellent leader in FaD, also a very dedicated cruncher. I also agree that if a leader must be found it should be sharder or mick, Both are also dedicated to the team.
Best of luck Mondo with whatever you decide.
I'm also curious as to why he was banned in the first place.

if he leaves i quit... i really hate this petty crap, banned for what and was it really necessary. this isnt high school people, should act like adults. we are here looking for a cure for diseases not to feed egos. ive don seti, ud genome and i ended up quiting each one because of this same internal friction. as i said if he quits im done with all of this, i run two highend machines 24/7 to help the cause but not this bs.

Mondobyte,
I saw your post pre-edit version, and I have to say that there seems to be some confusion, miscommunication, etc. going on here which is truely unfortunate. It really is not any of my business outside of the effects that this situation creates for our FAD team, but I hope that you can look past this point of friction with the mods and understand that you are a vital part of the team. If you go, you will be greatly missed, but I personally hope that you can look beyond the current problems to what we as a team can accomplish. However I do understand your frustration and wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide |

It looks that way to me too, but clearly I don't know the whole story so I can't really comment.
AS for the leader I would have to vote either for mickwish or sharder8 as they have been in pretty much from the start.
