[FaD] Setting a record for a Slooow WU

Well the runt in the herd has finally covered itself in glory.

My 333Celery started a WU 13 Jan and finished it 02 Feb.

408 hits and 20 Days! !!

I was gonna pull the plug on it. But it got thru the next WU in 6hrs.

What's that we say? Patience and Persistence.

Tried me on both accounts... *tears hair*

ChrsR.

You flatter me mondo.

This box went bouncing down the drive last year!

Cost me a 2G drive. The rest of it survived. To crunch another day.

It's still due for retirement. As soon as, the new bits get here!

I don't know Rusty... I never retire a box untile it goes for good. I still have a Pachard Bell (ugh) P125 (P75 w/ overdrive) running and it's done two jobs this month!

Ah ha! I know Kc's secret weapon now!

I need to dust of my P100 and get it crunching, then.

Persistence and patience, Rusty: that's the key...

Cheers
Mick

It's been running Win 98 since it came out. Before that, it was on 95. I guess I could put NT4 on it, but I have no problem with 98.

the part that bugs me about FAD is that it doesn't reward you with more 'pts' for the mollies that take coniderably longer. i've gotten the same # of pts from molecules that finished in 18 hours as those that took 84 hours.

I have a job running on my AthonXP 1700+ @ XP2000+ that has been running for a few days and with 399 hits so far. Too bad I only let it run when I'm not using the computer or can bear to run windows on it. Still waiting for a Linux client and the FAD forums seem to be down for 'administrative purposes'
