[FAD] changing registered NICKNAME

ok, here would be my first FAD question.

when i installed the client, i wasn't paying close enough attention and instead of putting 'presterjohn' as my nickname, i used the default value, which was my computer name.

i d/l'ed 5 jobs and am 76% completed on the first WU. is there a way of changing my registered nickname or should i just scrap it and do the install (or what have you) all over again.

I think you just go to the control panel and change your nick, then update. It will then change it on the next stats update, but it only updates every 6 hours, so make to take a bit.

would the update you suggest still work, even though i have not processed the 1st WU. i gather then that FAD uses the email addy as the key. would that be right?

Just right click on the Think icon in your system tray and choose setup. In the setup panel change your user name and hit update.

Like Mick said, it won't take effect until the update! Keep crunching and Welcome to the light!!

Yep, email addy is the key, AFAIK. If ya ain't processed a completed WU yet, then it prolly won't show you under the stats with your old nick, but I ain't sure. Just change the nick on all the machines, and then wait for a few days to see what happens.

ok, i changed it and did the update...let's see how it turns out.

been stuck at 76% on wu#1...seems like the last 25% takes the longest ?

well, it's getting late...think i'll call it a nite and check the fad site tomorrow

Actually it tends to get stuck at 99.9%.

Yep, the last little bit of crunching is the longest - a bit like ligand-fit processing at the end, I think THINK said.
