Because...If someone is looking for free software, it is stickied right at the top...they wouldn't have to go searching through the forum...and I really think that Silicon Jon's site is awsome...I have been wanting to make a place like that for a while...just a big forum where there are many links to free software...

Come on...you know how cool this site could be!

LOL

I'm getting a lot of negative remarks about using the term warez, but they'll just have to accept it when the site gets popular

Wadya know, I had pondered the thought of putting up a new download everyday...but didn't really like that idea :P Someone else did though!

SoftPedia has a lot of schtuff, though a lot of demos and similar too.

Yes, that's a nother good one...but lot's of demos and shareware there too. It's my aim to not include shareware or demos...though some programs may squeek by even though technically shareware or demos if there are loopholes or very useful functionality even with the given restrictions. I may later decide to draw the line before those squeekers.

So far my favorite free software site by a landslide is sourceforge
Quote:
SourceForge.net is the world's largest Open Source software development web site, hosting more than 100,000 projects and over 1,000,000 registered users with a centralized resource for managing projects, issues, communications, and code. SourceForge.net has the largest repository of Open Source code and applications available on the Internet, and hosts more Open Source development products than any other site or network worldwide. SourceForge.net provides a wide variety of services to projects we host, and to the Open Source community.
If I can get to be half as good as that site, I'll be happy. Not to say I would stop there, though.
