Go here (download.com) and download a program called,"ad aware," to get rid of it...as well as any other spyware/adware/malware you may have;

after that, try un-installing ie6, (assuming it was updated from an earlier version) and then go back to windows update and download it again...

Thanx for the advice, Vicki. I have tried re-installation of Internet Explorer, but it still doesn't work.
