Been there, done that. Hell, the longest relationship I've had was 2 weeks, and I've only dated 3 girls, and almost committed to a long distance relationship, up until I was 19. That was when I decided to not really care anymore and start living for myself.
Lo and behold, I find the perfect girl
for me within the first month of that fall semester of college. I didn't know that she was perfect then, but we became friends first, then started dating the week after Thanksgiving. We both had alot in common; we both love hockey (watch and play) and video games. Someone liking hockey is pretty rare in the "deep south", much less a girl that likes and plays it.
After this Thanksgiving, it'll be 5 years. We may not be
perfect, and we have our individual faults, but it really seems that we are perfect for each other.
Heed the wise words on this topic. Sometimes I wish I had learned them earlier, or had people like on this board to talk to at the time. But sometimes it's better to learn the
hard way. I find that it is very true that you have to learn and love yourself, before you can truly learn and love someone else.
