Etruscan is on a distinguished road
All right I'll get you started on this. The problem is: is that there seems to be not much in the way of a standard pin out from the mainboard to the ports. Many boards switch around where the pins are. The best thing to is get the pin out from the manufacturer of the board. You'll have to look around.

As far colors go the Red is +5v; the Black is ground; the Green and White are the data carriers. Usually the the end pins are +5v sometimes on the same end of the set of pins on the board sometimes on opposite ends. You can check this with volt meter - carefully. Don't short any pins with the leads. Usually the next two pins after the +5v are data pins - but not always. Sometimes there is a ground pin there. That is why you need the pin out. Once you have determined which pins are which, you have to rewire your female connectors from the ports to suit the configuration of your board. You lift the little flap, withdraw the wire, and reinsert it in the correct hole.
