On a more serious note, I've heard that WI has common law marriages, so my assumption is that WI is a little more liberal with divorce settlements.

Being that you've got hardly anything together anyway, I don't see why you couldn't work everything out with a moderator, instead of a judge splitting things up willy nilly. My brother ended a marriage similarily. Little debt, no kids, married for a year. They split the debt, sold the house they had just bought ( broke even ) and took what they brought into the marriage, and amicably split the stuff they had acquired during it.

Don't sign anything until you fully understand the intent of the papers. If you see something you suspect, post it here and get an unbiased opinion.

Sucks that you are getting divorced after such a short time together. Seems to be a trend.....
