Percentage x Base = Amount

You need the percentage of decrease...it's unknown, Let it = X.
Your base amount is $2323.14.
And your Amount in dollars after the decrease is $437.10.

sooooo,

2323.14(x) = 437.10

Divide both sides by the coefficient of X. This leaves you with....

0.18815052041633306645316253002402

To change this to a percentage just multiply by 100.

18.815052041633306645316253002402%
or approximatly
18.82%

he asked for the percent decrease.... this is not the correct answer. 1-18.82% is the correct answer as blaze06 said, I believe.
