Actually it does. If you read the letter, it says "If this new modem is replacing a LanCity modem that you currently own and do not lease from Comcast, this replacement modem will be yours to keep."
Well I do not own a LanCity modem, nor do I lease one. The whole reason I bought the Linksys was to avoid the monthly rental fee. And I sure was not paying AT&T $200 to buy it outright.
Now I either have to lease the Motorolla or buy it outright from Comcast. (I have yet to check the price, but I'm sure it's no bargain). This leaves me stuck with a perferctly good $100 Linksys modem, all to continue using a service that worked fine under AT&T.
Now can you see why I think it's a problem?
