I can see where Eddy has a problem with Epiphany being a Gnome only browser but I have to say I really like thier approach. Galeon is a nice browser but it was originally an fork from the original mozilla project with the goal of making it lighter. Epiphany is a fork from the Galeon project (which is being coded by some of the Galeon folks who that Galeon was getting to bloated).
Still, as harsh sounding as "We dont aim to make epiphany usable outside Gnome" is I'd bet it'll work fine if you have the Gnome libs. I think their example sums it up well "Making people happy that don't have control center installed is not a good reason to have mime configuration in epiphany itself."
In all editorial fairness though I have to say that Gnome2 is the best I've ever used across any operating system though so my opinion is somewhat biased.
Would you being willing to share any light on the new file manager designed to replace Nautilus Nukes? I think Metacity was/is a great idea. I'd like to see what's going to replace Nautilus. Thanks again for the post.
