let's see, the 7000 is two generations old in comparison to the 9000, so yes I would say it is better. As far as the memory, if you want to save some dough, yes nock that down to pc 2100 instead of pc 2700...the difference is not that significant given the boards fsb, although memory prices are pretty low across the board right now. If you plan on overclocking your rig, then faster ram can help to accomplish this, but otherwise you will notice little performance boost between pc2100 and pc2700 in real world use, at least that's been my experience
