i'm sorry to break it to you sevenal.. you get a lower quality chip. The thoroughbred is a much better core. thoroughbred is .13 micron and palomino is .18. the 2000 of palomino runs as well as thoroughbred 2000 at stock speed, but for overclocking the palomino is about at its limit. I bought a 2100 before i knew about cores and got a palomino =/ I was only able to stably oc it 52 mhz.
I guess the palomino costs more because there is less of a demand for it so they have to cover their losses.
