I've found the 8mb cache really doesn't make a diffrence unless you are transfering/working with large files, or are using the swap file extensively. I would like to say I see a diffrence, but I really don't in my everyday work (surfing the net, e-mail, downlaoding, game playing, sometimes playing with gmax and winmorph, and, of using Microsoft Office (I know, M$ is evil and crap. But other than WordPerfect, I really haven't found much better than Office 97)).
Of course, if speed really matters that much, go one step further into the wonderful world of SCSI drives. Only
