too many choices multi-tool/dremmel

Hello folks,

Well i finally decided on getting me a dremmel/rotary multi-tool or what ever you want to call them.

My question is what do i want to look for in the rpm? Comparing the fairly large selection in the store the main difference i could tell was the speed settings, varialble or fixed and then the range of speeds,

I ended up going for the a Black and Decker, was about the same price as the others but came with a better set of accesories. Couldnt find a direct link but click this Black and Decker UK then search in the product search for RT650KA

This one does 8,000-27,000 rpm some of the dremmels did 10,000 - 33,000. Did i get the wrong one? Would the faster speed one serve better or is that more for specialist work.
So what is the benifits of slower Vs faster speeds.

I havent opened the box so i can still exchange it so any thoughts?

Dont really see i will be doing much more than case mods for the moment. Think you would have to be mad to use one of these to sand a chair.
