My father did something for tailgaiters once. He hooked up several headlights in the trunk. When your bumber would disapear from view in the mirror it was time to pull the trunk release with new springs assist. Up popped the trunk and on turned on several headlights. It worked great except for the small fire it caused in his wiring.
I will bet that fellar dont tailgate any longer.
