haha, that's pretty funny mykex. for me this was actually a tought question. it all depends on where i am. back home (in the dallas/fort worth metroplex), the other non-right lanes have to be used for traffic otherwise you would develop a stop and go traffic jam very quickly. so in that case the left lane is (IMO legitimately) used for overflow traffic. it really does speed up traffic in those cases (we go 50mph instead of 20mph). that's just city driving for me. on the other hand out here (in the middle of west texas) things are very different. out here i am in agreement with the rest of you.
