As a side note, Jewish law saw a baptized man as being a new man who is actually reborn. Children that are born after the baptism become the family's heir to the all-important birthright, even if children were born before the baptism. I am not sure if this continued after Christ's arrival, but this was one of many, many laws in an intricate set put into action by the religious leaders.
