tonyromen is on a distinguished road
I have an audigy problem too...

I know...i know...you guys are gonna say..."why did you get the audigy? get the hercules" but I want the audigy. audigy 2 plat that is. I want it for the internal box and home studio capabilities as well as gaming....so with that out of the way, oh by the way, i'm upgrading from onboard sound.

soooooo..........

I tried installing it last night. I uninstalled the drivers for the onboard sound, and tried going into bios to disable onboard sound but couldn't find an option for it (asus a7v333 -- did I just miss it, or is there really no option?). I went along. Installed the hardware and I ran the cd and installed the drivers...and restarted.

It seems like the software installed ok but I still get an add remove hardware wizard at startup. I have 2 Multimedia audio devices in device manager both with yellow exclamations and when I run the diagnostic, the hardware checks ok, but all the playback and software fails.

Could this just be because I didn't disable onboard sound correctly? Is uninstalling the drivers and software not enough? Is the option in my bios and I just didn't find it?

Oh...and one other thing, I downloaded the latest drivers...dated 12-20 and it threw and errer that said something about WMD drivers and VXD drivers. Can someone tell me what these are?

Athlon XP 2100+
Asus A7V333
768mb PNY DDR PC2700
GF4 ti4200 128mb
60g maxtor 7200
DVD-rom
CDRW

Win2k sp2

Thanks for any help guys.
