DakotaFox is on a distinguished road
"reinstall XP to directory called "Windows2" or something to that effect, then you can boot to that, copy files to your CDR and format and reload everything "

I don't have the ability to choose the directory that the Emachines restore disk installs to. The way it looks to me that it performs is that it reformats the hard drive and then install all of it's xp ghost image. I think this why it warns me that I will lose all of my data if I choose to install

Isnt there an option for system restore?? restore it back to before you installed the software.

I haven't seen any restore options offered when I put in the Emachines restore disk other than a full drive wipe and reinstall.

I would also definitely put my old keyboard and mouse back on.

The Logitech KB works as a regular KB and the mouse does it's thing. I was trying to get the extra button and battery status functions going. I went to Logitech and got their latest software for XP. After I get this resolved I'll try that.

Also, why call emachines...call logitech and bug them......

I Called Emachines because it is an Emachine and I had to start somewhere. I figured I needed to find a way to manipulate Windows XP so I could save my data. Microsoft is USELESS as far as supporting OEM software, even though they sell it.

Thanks,

Blain
