Dual Boot Windows 2000/XP problem

I recently installed windows 2000 on a new partition on my HD. I used windows xp to run Partiton magic, I made a new partition. Windows 2000 is working fine. I however cannot run windows xp when I select it as the OS in the startup. It gives me an error message stating, " windows 2000 could not start because teh following file is missing or corrupt /windows/system32/config/systemd. It seems its using my original partition to boot windows xp. ( Just a guess) Any help is much appreciated!!
