why do some people choose to spend more for a mercedes or bmw instead of getting a ford or buick? for those who can afford it, the yamaha represents the best in burner technology out there.
what's good about the drive is the amqr which excels in producing superior audio cds. it also happens to be a heckuva burner as well. this was the first to market for 24x on cd-rw discs.
rather than "follow", yamaha chooses to lead. they are one of the few remaining innovators out there. the t@2 probably isn't of great usefulness for the majority of users, but it does indicate that their engineers are a cut above the rest.
i can't wait to see what their dvd product will look like...
