The physical craving will go away, remarkably soon -- three or four days, a week max. The desire to smoke, and the ingrained habits that make you reach for a cig whenever you feel a bit stressed (or a bit relaxed, too) -- those take much longer. Years, I'd say. (I still dream about lighting up, and it's been eighteen years since I had my last one.) But once the craving passes, you can actually master the habits, with constant (at least at first) vigilance. Just remember: you're not going to have "just one". Not ever.

But if you do fall off the wagon, don't tell yourself, "Well, that's it, I just can't do it." Just try again. Eventually it will work.
