Stuttering Audio Video

I'm having problems with audio video on my system. Whenever I use Winamp, it will "skip" about once every 2 or 3 minutes or so. I've got an Athlon 1400 (running at 38 C, 256MB DDR, SB Audigy, Gforce 2 MX400, and a ATA100 drive on a ASUS A7V266E. My system is running XP pro. I definately shouldn't be having performance problems.
Whats odd is the fact that the system never did this before. i had it running for a good 6 months with 0 problems. Then one fine day it just started happening. The only thing i had done was rename alot of my mp3's to try to get a standardized naming system. other than that i hadnt touched it in weeks. with one exception there was no installs, no new devices or drivers....nothing EXCEPT FOR the latest version of winamp.

So it was high time for a fdisk and reinstall so i did it (saving my data on another machine on my network first) Same result.

Im clueless.....what do you think......maybe a conflict with the audigy and XP/Winamp? no idea

Thanks
