In other context, DSP usually means Digital Signal Processor like in a "hard modem" that does its own processing on-card , rather than send it ti the CPU of the mobo (HSP=Host Signal Processing)as in a "soft" modem that relies on SW and CPU.

Just a FYI reminder--most folkes know this already I'm sure.
