The defrag program will run faster since all of the drivers and other programs will not be loaded.
Thinking about the task ahead. This is what I need to do
Turn virtual memory off
boot to DOS and delete the swap file
boot to safe mode and defrag
turn virtual memory back on
boot to normal windows
