Linux don't do too well with integrated cards (and I think your modem and sound are integrated -- I could be wrong!).
If you want a windows emulator, I have heard that Wine does a good job!
If you want windows like apps, there are bunch of places to go!
I think linux can do almost everything the same or better (or worse
) than windows!
