Root canal is no fun, but it beats the alternative.

I developed an abcess on a cracked tooth, while traveling two days in an unpressurized light plane. At 8 or 9000 feet, things seem to swell up and throb like you wouldn't believe. I was sitting in the right (co-pilot) seat, eating Ibuprofen and swilling 100 proof Smirnoff right out of the bottle, to ease the pain. Also, praying that I wouldn't have to fly the plane in an emergency...I woulda been SOL.

After that, root canal surgery was a walk in the park!
