Thanks for the helpful advice
Merg, I've been ordering stuff online for at least five years. Ive been racking my brain for something I missed here. I ordered the boots through Amazon, who have always been excellent for me. If I had seen the shipping charge I never would have ordered the boots. After this whole nightmare began, I went to the UnbeatableSale.com website. They have a policy that does not allow you to cancel an order pre-ship. I think this is a scam. At the website, they specify that you cannot cancel an order; if you refuse delivery they will charge a re-stocking fee, and the delivery charge, and a 'cancellation fee'. I think that the shipping fee is not disclosed until the buyer gets the order confirmation - as in my case. Once that happens, there is no recourse. Obviously, I would not have ordered the $73.91 boots if the shipping charge was $38.09. Once the buyer finds out the shipping charge they can't cancel the order, and if it is refused, all charges apply. They tell you to accept the order and apply for a return - I have no doubt whatsoever that the $38.09 shipping fee would still be taken from my account (bank debit card - wish I'd used my AmEx). This is why they never responded to any of my emails. I have kept all records, have filed an A to Z Guarantee claim with Amazon and will also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. These people are thieves - they must be desperate for money. Thanks for helping!
